Running a business is not easy. It involves so many responsibilities and obligations that sometimes make business owners forget about crucial tax dates and deadlines. Missed deadlines result in heavy fines and disbalance of budgets.

To help you stay informed, we have created a tax calendar for the UK that contains important dates in the tax year 2025/26. The UK’s tax year for 2025/26 started on 6th April 2025 and will end on 5th April 2026. So, let’s explore which are crucial dates you should keep in mind.

19th April 2025: Final PAYE Submission for 2024/25

30th April 2025: Self-Assessment Penalty Date

If you were required to file a self-assessment tax return for the 2023/24 tax year and missed the 31st January 2025 online tax filing deadline, this is the date when additional penalties start to apply.

31st January 2026: Final Self-Assessment Deadline

This is the most crucial tax date of the year for self-assessment taxpayers. It is the final deadline to file your 2024/25 online tax return. Moreover, this is also the due date for any balancing payments, i.e., the tax you still owe.

5th April 2026: End of the UK’s Tax Year 2025/26
